Upgraded Electrical Panels for Safer Colorado Springs Living

Your electrical panel is the quiet backbone of your home—but when it’s outdated or overwhelmed, the risks aren’t so quiet. Power surges, tripped breakers, and warm panel covers can all hint at something deeper. At WireNut Home Services, we take a thoughtful, whole-home approach to electrical panel repairs and replacements that’s designed for Colorado homes—no shortcuts, no guesswork.

Our licensed electricians evaluate not just the panel, but how it interacts with your entire electrical system. Some homeowners are modernizing older properties, while others are planning expansions or addressing safety concerns. No matter the goal, we’re here to ensure your electrical infrastructure is built to perform—today and for years to come.

Signs Your Electrical Panel Might Be Holding You Back

It’s easy to overlook your home’s panel—until it starts interfering with your daily comfort or safety. Recognizing the early signs of trouble can help you avoid outages, appliance damage, or fire risks.

  • Frequent Breaker Trips or Resets: If your breakers are tripping regularly—or not tripping at all during overload—it may be a sign that your panel can’t handle your home’s current electrical demands.
  • Buzzing Sounds or a Warm Panel: Electrical panels should operate silently. If you hear a low hum, buzzing, or notice warmth around the box, call a licensed electrician immediately.
  • Flickering Lights During Appliance Use: Lights that dim or flicker when large appliances run can indicate poor load balancing or degraded components in the panel.
  • Your Panel Still Uses Fuses or Is Over 25 Years Old: Older panels weren’t designed to handle today’s electrical loads. If your system relies on screw-in fuses or your panel was installed decades ago, it’s time for an upgrade.

Need help determining if your panel is the issue? We offer full electrical inspection services that evaluate your system’s safety and performance from top to bottom.

Our Electrical Panel Installation & Upgrade Process

Your panel isn’t just another box on the wall—it’s the central hub of your home’s power. A faulty or outdated panel doesn’t just inconvenience you; it puts your entire electrical system at risk. At WireNut, we approach every panel installation with the care, clarity, and technical precision your home deserves.

In-Home Evaluation & Load Assessment

We begin by assessing your current panel, overall load capacity, and future usage needs. You might be adding a hot tub, installing an EV charger, or experiencing frequent breaker issues. Whatever the case, we’ll map out what your system demands now—and what it may need later.

Transparent Planning & Upfront Pricing

No surprise charges or vague estimates. We walk you through your upgrade options, code requirements, and layout recommendations. Then we provide a clear quote, so you can make an informed decision without pressure.

Safe, Code-Compliant Installation

Our licensed electricians remove old or damaged panels, install new breakers, label circuits, and test every connection to ensure seamless performance. All work meets Colorado Springs permitting and NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.

Final Safety Testing & Walkthrough

Before we leave, we test voltage across all circuits, inspect grounding, and verify AFCI/GFCI protection where required. Then we walk you through your new panel—what we did, what’s labeled where, and how to safely reset a breaker when needed.

We also inspect wiring and junction boxes during the process—and if we see other safety concerns, we’ll recommend next steps with honesty and no sales pressure. For homes with additional electrical needs, we may also suggest upgrades in electrical wiring, outlets & switches, or circuit breakers to ensure full-home reliability.

Another plumbing issue, this time with slow draining drains. Frankie Vargas came and recommended that we schedule a multi drain cleaning that's 95% effective. He also suggested having our septic system drained and maintained, which we were looking to do, anyway. We'll see how things turn out next week.

We are very pleased with the service provided by Gary Burgess of the WireNut plumbing department. I’ve known for a couple of years that we would have a big expense coming up to replace a lot of of galvanized pipe well over a century old, and figured it would need to be replaced throughout the entire home, including tearing up walls. But Gary inspected everything very carefully, including tracking each line from our basement to where it ran up into the rest of the house, an informed me of the good news that the only old galvanized piping we had was what we could see exposed in the basement and he would be able to connect it to the copper piping that ran through the rest of the house. I appreciated his honest assessment. He was very happy to know that we’d be able to save a lot of money that way. He was also very accommodating about my specific request to keep the line running to our kitchen copper instead of using PEX line for our drinking water. He and his assistant came and did very thorough job and we are happy with the result.
