Colorado Springs Outlet Installation

Adding an outlet where there isn’t one, replacing a two-prong receptacle that doesn’t meet today’s needs, putting in a USB outlet in the right spot. These are all projects Colorado Springs homeowners tend to put off longer than they should, usually because they assume it’s a bigger deal than it is. Most outlet installation jobs are straightforward for a licensed electrician, and getting it done right the first time means you’re not dealing with extension cords draped across the floor or power strips doing the job a proper outlet should be doing.

WireNut’s electricians handle outlet installation throughout Colorado Springs, from single receptacle additions to whole-room upgrades. We’ll assess your existing wiring, tell you exactly what the job involves, and give you an upfront price before anything gets started. If you’ve got an outlet that’s already giving you trouble, our outlet repair page covers what that process looks like.

Outlet installation isn’t one-size-fits-all. The right approach depends on where you need the outlet, what you’re powering, and what your existing wiring can support. WireNut’s electricians will assess all of that before recommending a solution, so you’re not getting more work than you need or less than the job actually calls for.

Types of Outlet Installation We Handle

  • New outlet additions — adding receptacles in locations that don’t currently have them, home offices, garages, basements, and outdoor spaces
  • Two-prong to three-prong upgrades — older Colorado Springs homes still have two-prong outlets that don’t support grounded plugs
  • GFCI outlet installation — required by code in kitchens, bathrooms, garages, and exterior locations
  • USB and USB-C outlets — combination receptacles that charge devices without taking up plug space
  • Outdoor outlet installation — weatherproof receptacles for patios, decks, and exterior walls
  • 20-amp outlet installation — for appliances and equipment that need dedicated higher-capacity circuits
  • Dedicated circuit installation — when a new outlet needs its own circuit to handle the load safely

Does Adding an Outlet Require a New Circuit?

Not always, but sometimes. If your existing circuits have capacity to handle an additional outlet, we can tap into the nearest one and run the new receptacle without adding a circuit. But if you’re adding outlets for a home office, a workshop, a large appliance, or anything else with a significant power draw, a dedicated circuit is usually the right call. Colorado Springs homes with older electrical panels sometimes run into capacity issues here too, and we’ll flag that if it’s relevant to your project.

What to Expect From a WireNut Outlet Installation in Colorado Springs

When you schedule an outlet installation with WireNut, the electrician will start by looking at where you want the outlet, what you’re planning to use it for, and what your existing wiring looks like. From there you’ll get a clear explanation of what the job involves and an upfront price before anything starts. No surprises when the invoice shows up.

Most single outlet additions wrap up in a single visit. More involved projects, like adding multiple outlets, running new circuits, or upgrading a panel to support the new load, may take longer and we’ll scope that out with you upfront. Either way you’ll know exactly what you’re getting into before we pick up a tool.

WireNut has earned thousands of five-star Google reviews across Colorado Springs and holds an 11-time BBB Excellence in Customer Service award. If you’re also thinking about upgrading your existing outlets or need repair work done while we’re there, check out our outlet upgrade and outlet repair services. Schedule your outlet installation online today and same-day appointments are available depending on your project scope.

Technician was very thorough and very professional. He explained everything he was doing and why. I was very comfortable with his technical knowledge and he was able to get our AC up and running very quickly. It was a little more expensive than I thought it was going to be but Sam Montejano did a great job.

WireNut is a breeze to work with. Between scheduling in the appointment to the time Jarred walked out of the house, the entire process was painless, short, sweet, and the point. Even had a few laughs with Jarred as he was leaving. Thanks for the timely work and on-time arrival!!

Joe Ellard from WireNut Home services provided excellent customer service. They came to install a sewer clean out in the front yard. It involved digging a very deep hole. They were quick, efficient , friendly and kept us informed along the way. The work area stayed tidy through the whole job. When they were finished, they cleaned the area up and left it as if nothing had been done. Wonderful work. We will continue to use them as we have in the past, for all our heating, plumbing and electrical needs. I highly recommend them.

Cannan and Ian were both concerned about making sure I understood the process they were involved in and answered any questions and concerns I had on both days they were here. There was some miscommunication that involved the last day of installation and they both made sure that my HVAC was installed and running before they left that night. That had been their promise to me and they came through!
