Ductless Mini-Split Services in Colorado Springs, CO

Flexible Heating and Cooling Without the Ductwork

Some rooms never seem to stay comfortable. The upstairs bedroom gets too warm, the finished basement stays chilly, the home office runs hot, or an older home simply was not built with ductwork in mind. A ductless mini-split gives you another way to heat and cool those spaces without relying on a traditional forced-air system.

WireNut Home Services installs, repairs, and services ductless mini-split systems for homeowners throughout Colorado Springs and the surrounding Southern Colorado area. Whether you are upgrading a single room, improving comfort in an addition, or looking for a more efficient way to control specific areas of your home, our HVAC technicians can help you understand your options and choose a system that fits the way you live.

What Is a Ductless Mini-Split?

A ductless mini-split is a heating and cooling system that uses an outdoor unit connected to one or more indoor air handlers. Instead of moving conditioned air through ductwork, the system delivers comfort directly into the room or zone where the indoor unit is installed.

That design makes mini-splits a smart option for:

  • Finished basements

  • Garages and workshops

  • Home additions

  • Sunrooms

  • Older homes without existing ductwork

  • Rooms with uneven temperatures

  • Home offices, guest rooms, and bonus rooms

  • Areas where extending ductwork would be difficult or expensive

Because each indoor unit can serve a specific area, ductless systems give homeowners more control over comfort from room to room. For many Colorado homes, that means fewer hot and cold spots, better efficiency, and a more practical path to year-round comfort.

Why Choose a Mini-Split System?

Mini-splits are not just “small HVAC systems.” They solve comfort problems that traditional systems do not always handle well.

Zoned Comfort

With a ductless mini-split, you can condition the room or area you are actually using. That makes it easier to keep one part of the home cooler in summer or warmer in winter without overworking the rest of the system.

Efficient Performance

Since mini-splits do not rely on long duct runs, they avoid some of the energy loss that can happen inside ductwork. For the right home and application, that can support more efficient heating and cooling.

Heating and Cooling in One System

Many ductless mini-splits function as heat pumps, meaning they can provide both cooling and heating. That makes them useful during Colorado’s seasonal swings, especially in spaces that need extra comfort support outside of the main HVAC system.

Great for Homes Without Ductwork

If your home has radiant heat, boiler heat, limited duct access, or an addition that was never connected to the main system, ductless installation can be much less invasive than adding new ducts.

Better Control for Problem Rooms

A mini-split can be a strong choice when one room always feels different from the rest of the house. Instead of replacing an entire HVAC system for one uncomfortable area, a ductless system may provide targeted relief.

Mini-Split Installation by WireNut Home Services

Installing a ductless mini-split starts with understanding the space. The right system size, indoor unit placement, outdoor unit location, electrical requirements, insulation levels, sun exposure, and daily usage all affect performance.

WireNut’s technicians evaluate your home and explain the best options for your comfort goals. We can help determine whether a single-zone mini-split is enough or whether a multi-zone system makes more sense for multiple areas.

During installation, you can expect our team to:

  • Review your comfort concerns and room-by-room needs

  • Evaluate the space, layout, and installation location

  • Recommend equipment sized for the area

  • Explain your options clearly before work begins

  • Install the indoor and outdoor components

  • Connect refrigerant, drain, and electrical lines

  • Test the system for safe, reliable performance

  • Walk you through basic operation and maintenance

Mini-Split Repair and Troubleshooting

If your ductless system is not heating, cooling, draining, or responding the way it should, WireNut can help diagnose the issue. Mini-splits are efficient systems, but they still need professional care when something goes wrong.

Common mini-split problems include:

  • Weak heating or cooling

  • Unusual noises

  • Water leaking from the indoor unit

  • Ice buildup

  • Short cycling

  • Error codes

  • Poor airflow

  • Musty odors

  • Remote or thermostat issues

  • Outdoor unit problems

Our HVAC technicians inspect the system, identify the cause, and explain your repair options. If repair is no longer the best investment, we can also help you compare replacement options.

The Process of Upgrading to a Mini-Split

Upgrading to a ductless mini-split should feel clear, not overwhelming. WireNut Home Services focuses on helping homeowners understand what is happening at each step.

1. Comfort Consultation

We start by learning what you want the system to solve. Are you trying to cool one room? Heat a basement? Improve comfort in an addition? Reduce strain on your main HVAC system? Your goals shape the recommendation.

2. Home and Room Evaluation

Next, we look at the space itself. Square footage, ceiling height, insulation, windows, sun exposure, existing HVAC equipment, and available installation locations all matter.

3. System Recommendation

Once we understand the home, we recommend the type and size of mini-split system that makes sense. We will explain whether a single-zone or multi-zone setup is the better fit.

4. Clear Estimate and Scheduling

You will know what to expect before the installation begins. WireNut also offers financing options for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical projects, including 0% interest for 12 months with qualifying credit.

5. Professional Installation

Our team installs the equipment, makes the necessary connections, checks system performance, and keeps the work area as clean as possible.

6. Final Walkthrough

Before we leave, we review how to use your new mini-split, how to adjust settings, and what maintenance helps protect performance.

What to Expect During Mini-Split Installation

Most ductless installations are less disruptive than adding or modifying ductwork. Your technician will typically mount the indoor air handler, place the outdoor unit, create a small connection point through the wall, and run the lines between the two units.

You should expect some discussion around:

  • Where the indoor unit should be mounted

  • Where the outdoor unit can sit safely and efficiently

  • How condensate drainage will be handled

  • Electrical access and system requirements

  • How the system will look from inside and outside the home

  • How to use the remote or wall-mounted controls

WireNut’s goal is to install a system that looks clean, performs properly, and fits your home’s comfort needs.

Is a Ductless Mini-Split Right for Your Home?

A mini-split may be a good fit if:

  • One room is always too hot or too cold

  • You are finishing a basement, garage, or attic

  • You are adding living space to your home

  • Your home does not have ductwork

  • You want independent temperature control in certain rooms

  • You are looking for efficient supplemental heating and cooling

  • You want an alternative to window AC units or portable heaters

A ductless system is not always the right answer for every home, which is why a professional evaluation matters. In some cases, repairing your current HVAC system, replacing central air, improving airflow, or upgrading indoor air quality equipment may be the better choice.

THEY ARE PUTTING IN A COMPLETE AC/FURNACE SYSTEM AND A COMPLETE NEW TANKLESS WATER HEATER SYSTEM!!! JOB CAME OUT FANTASTIC! READ THE REST OF MY POSTÑ I'm half deaf and wear hearing aids...AHHHH So far so good! Really looking forward to working with them for new AC unit and furnace and tankless hot water heater..I'll add more to my review when the job is done..ps they caught that my house under from 16 years ago isn't up to code, so they are fixing that too. Tankless hot water heater went in today and it's great..they were VERY qualified and knowledgeable about all aspects of the job. The entire crew were pleasant and courteous. I really appreciate the work so far! I'm looking forward to having the AC, furnace combo up n running on Wednesday of next week. And I will review it then. I would have them in my house any time. More to come on Monday as they can't complete the job until they put in a sub panel. So the story continues...I guess a week later is better than not. They did offer to bring out some portable air conditioning units to keep us cool until they get our AC up and running. We declined as we are Colorado natives and history opening Windows and using fans just really anticipating on your air conditioning unit as we were supposed to be done earlier this week. I will post more on a job is complete on Monday hopefully.. well it's Thursday had the electrion was here Monday and made progress. They came out today and finished up the job, except for the inspections. Dylan was fantastic and as all the other employees did, worked VERY hard and got it done. Riley came out and filled up the AC unit and turned thing's on. THANK YOU GUYS VERY MUCH! IT'S GREAT TO BE DONE ✅👍🏼✅✅✅✅✅
