Aurora Circuit Breaker Repair

A breaker that keeps tripping or won’t reset needs a real diagnosis, not another reset. WireNut’s licensed electricians repair circuit breaker problems throughout Aurora homes, from Original Aurora’s older panels to newer builds.

Circuit Breaker Repair for Aurora Homes

Repeated breaker trips in an Aurora home usually mean one of two things: the circuit itself is overloaded, or the breaker is failing and no longer protecting the circuit the way it should. Certain breaker brands common in panels installed during Aurora’s 1960s and 70s construction boom are known to have reliability issues as they age.

Our electricians test the actual breaker along with the circuit it protects, and if the panel itself is showing its age throughout, we’ll talk through whether a targeted repair or a broader electrical panel upgrade makes more sense, especially if you’re also noticing issues with outlets and switches on the same circuit.

Signs Your Aurora Breaker Needs Repair

  • Repeated tripping: even when the circuit isn’t obviously overloaded
  • Breaker won’t stay reset: a sign of internal failure or a persistent downstream fault
  • Visible discoloration on the breaker: a clear sign of heat damage
  • Buzzing from the panel near a specific breaker: often points to a loose connection
  • Breaker feels loose in the panel: can indicate a worn connection point

Here’s what typically points to a breaker that needs attention.

Is a Tripping Breaker Always a Sign of a Bad Breaker?

Not always. Sometimes the breaker is doing exactly what it should by tripping in response to a genuine overload or short in the circuit it protects. Our electricians test both the breaker and the circuit to figure out which one is actually the problem before recommending a fix.

Repair This One Breaker or Check the Whole Panel?

If it’s an isolated issue with one breaker and the rest of the panel looks solid, a straightforward repair usually resolves it. If we’re finding multiple aging breakers or corrosion throughout, it’s worth stepping back and evaluating the panel as a whole.

How Long Does a Breaker Typically Last?

A quality breaker can last decades under normal conditions, but certain brands common in Aurora’s older panels are known to fail well before that, which is why age alone isn’t always the best indicator of when repair is needed.

With 11 straight BBB Awards of Excellence in Customer Service and thousands of Google reviews, WireNut has built a real reputation across the Front Range.

We know which breaker brands tend to fail in Aurora’s older panels, and we don’t treat a repeated trip as routine until we know why it’s happening. I have used WireNut several times for a variety of services, from checking plumbing lines to HVAC tune-ups and electrical work. No matter who they send or who I speak with over the phone, I’m always impressed by their professionalism and genuine family-oriented approach.

I had the privilege of working with Frankie today, and let me just say—what a great guy! He was easy to talk to, took the time to explain everything thoroughly, and was incredibly personable. He’s exactly the kind of person you want representing your company.

The same goes for everyone I’ve spoken with over the phone. Dawn, Jason, and the entire staff have consistently been friendly, professional, and a pleasure to work with.

Thank you all for providing such outstanding customer service. It’s rare to find a company that delivers not only quality work but also makes every interaction feel personal. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend WireNut to anyone looking for honest, professional, and caring service.

I had the pleasure of having WireNut help me with my serious plumbing problem. I had seen a sign somewhere that said they do plumbing - they have a good reputation - so I called. I had the pleasure of working with Frankie Vargas. He’s a gem and he went the distance to really ensure what was wrong and how to fix the problem. He explained the fix to me as it was complicated. But I understood. He was careful to explain options which they may be required to do if there were further complications and let’s face the truth, there can be complications. But he assured me and he was good to his Word, that they would explain the process along the way and even show me with the camera exactly what was going on. A few days passed and I was scheduled for service which required an inspection and a schedule with the local municipality - which delayed WireNut. But WireNut prevailed and the work began. The technicians sent were gentlemen and very sensitive to cleanliness - you know, keeping their work area clean and tidy while doing some difficult work. Those gentlemen Joseph Ellerd and Chris Beatty worked as a team. They were efficient and clever in their work which I watched much of the time. They maintained decorum in their language and in their respectful conduct. They were a real pleasure to know and like Frankie Vargas, they kept me apprised all along the way. I expect because of this consistent experience with WireNut plumbing department, that you too will find your experience more than completely satisfactory! It was certainly 5 Star and above!

The technicians provided outstanding service, conducting a thorough evaluation of the HVAC system and identifying the components that required repair or adjustment. Their work noticeably improved the system’s overall efficiency and performance, reflecting both strong technical skill and careful attention to detail. Throughout the process, they demonstrated professionalism, clear communication, and a commitment to ensuring the system operated at its best. The cost for the assessment and repairs was very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the work performed and the improved functionality achieved.

Excellent company.  I highly recommend them.  I've had two service calls from this company, one for electrical, and the second for a sewer line repair.  At both service calls, the technicians were courteous and thorough.  During the first service call, the electrician worked diligently for hours troubleshooting an issue with a circuit in my electrical panel.  He discovered the problem and promptly remedied it.  During the second service call for a broken sewer line, the technicians removed the broken section of sewer line, then expertly fabricated and joined a new section to the existing sewer line.  However, during the digging process, the excavator required to reach the sewer line was a little too heavy for my driveway and subsequently cracked a few sections.  This company stepped up and completely replaced the broken squares at absolutely no cost to me.  Great company.

Dylan J came to inspect our recently installed HVAC systems with WireNut. He was helpful when I asked questions, and gave us a timeline of next steps with the city inspector. Dylan showed up at the time we expected and did the job in a quick and efficient manner. He was also nice and understanding to our dog.
