Aurora Pipe Repair & Installation

Pipe condition varies enormously across Aurora depending on the era a home was built. Original Aurora homes from the 1960s and 70s often still carry galvanized supply lines nearing the end of their service life, while newer Southshore and Painted Prairie builds run modern PEX designed to last decades longer.

Pipe Repair and New Installation Across Aurora

Whether the job is patching a single damaged section, replacing an entire aging supply line, or running new pipe for an addition, our plumbers match the approach to both the home’s age and the homeowner’s budget. Not every older pipe needs full replacement immediately, but understanding which sections are at risk matters.

Homes still running galvanized pipe from Aurora’s original construction boom are the ones we most often recommend a full repipe for, since patching individual leaks in aging galvanized line tends to become a repeating cost. Our leak detection team frequently identifies the first sign of this kind of aging pipe before it becomes a bigger problem.

Repairing vs. Replacing Pipe in an Aurora Home

  • Single isolated leak in newer PEX or PVC: Usually a straightforward, affordable repair.
  • Repeated leaks in galvanized pipe: A sign the whole line is corroding and a full repipe is the more cost effective long term choice.
  • Reduced water pressure throughout an older home: Often caused by internal corrosion narrowing galvanized pipe over years.
  • New addition or remodel: Requires new pipe installation matched to the rest of the home’s system.

The right call depends heavily on the age and material of the existing plumbing.

How do I know if I need a repair or a full repipe?

A single leak in an otherwise healthy line, especially modern PEX or PVC, is almost always a straightforward repair. But if an Original Aurora home has had more than one or two pipe leaks in different spots within a couple of years, that pattern usually means the galvanized pipe itself is corroding throughout the system, and a full repipe becomes more economical than repeatedly patching individual failures.

Is my home’s low water pressure a pipe problem?

It can be. Galvanized pipe corrodes from the inside over decades, gradually narrowing the interior diameter and restricting flow. If pressure has dropped gradually across the whole house rather than at just one fixture, and the home still has original galvanized supply lines, that internal corrosion is a common and likely cause.

Can you repair just one section of pipe instead of the whole line?

Yes, when a single section of pipe has failed and the rest of the line is in reasonable condition, a targeted section repair is often the most cost effective solution, and we clearly explain when that approach makes sense versus when a broader replacement is the better long term investment.

Why Aurora Homeowners Choose WireNut

Our plumbers assess the full system before recommending repair or replacement, so Aurora homeowners are not stuck guessing whether a single leak means bigger problems are coming. That assessment matters most in the older sections of the city still carrying original galvanized pipe. That honest assessment protects homeowners from paying for a full repipe when a targeted repair would solve the problem just as effectively.

An 11x BBB Award for Excellence in Customer Service and thousands of Google reviews back our pipe work, and upfront pricing means a full repipe quote is clear and detailed before any work starts. When a full repipe genuinely is the right call, we walk through the process step by step so homeowners know exactly what to expect from start to finish.

I had the pleasure of having WireNut help me with my serious plumbing problem. I had seen a sign somewhere that said they do plumbing - they have a good reputation - so I called. I had the pleasure of working with Frankie Vargas. He’s a gem and he went the distance to really ensure what was wrong and how to fix the problem. He explained the fix to me as it was complicated. But I understood. He was careful to explain options which they may be required to do if there were further complications and let’s face the truth, there can be complications. But he assured me and he was good to his Word, that they would explain the process along the way and even show me with the camera exactly what was going on. A few days passed and I was scheduled for service which required an inspection and a schedule with the local municipality - which delayed WireNut. But WireNut prevailed and the work began. The technicians sent were gentlemen and very sensitive to cleanliness - you know, keeping their work area clean and tidy while doing some difficult work. Those gentlemen Joseph Ellerd and Chris Beatty worked as a team. They were efficient and clever in their work which I watched much of the time. They maintained decorum in their language and in their respectful conduct. They were a real pleasure to know and like Frankie Vargas, they kept me apprised all along the way. I expect because of this consistent experience with WireNut plumbing department, that you too will find your experience more than completely satisfactory! It was certainly 5 Star and above!
