Aurora Sewer Line Repair

Sewer line problems are among the most disruptive plumbing issues an Aurora homeowner can face, and they are also some of the most preventable when caught early. Mature trees lining older Original Aurora streets make root intrusion a familiar issue in that part of the city.

Sewer Line Diagnosis and Repair in Aurora

A sewer line issue rarely announces itself clearly at first, usually starting as a slow drain or an occasional gurgle before escalating into a full backup. Our plumbers use camera inspection to see exactly what is happening inside the line before recommending a repair approach.

If a slow drain elsewhere in the home turns out to be connected to a developing sewer issue, our drain cleaning team often catches the early signs during a routine visit. Root intrusion is the most common cause we see in Original Aurora, where mature trees have had decades to grow into aging clay sewer lines.

Signs of a Developing Sewer Line Problem

  • Multiple drains backing up at once: Suggests the problem is in the shared main line rather than one fixture.
  • Sewage odor in the yard: Can indicate a break in the line beneath the ground.
  • Unusually lush or soggy patch of lawn: Sometimes the only outdoor sign of a leaking sewer line.
  • Gurgling from toilets when other fixtures drain: A classic sign of a main line partially blocked.

A few symptoms consistently point to sewer line trouble rather than a simple drain clog.

Is a sewer backup dangerous, and can it wait?

A sewer backup should not wait, since it poses a genuine health hazard and often worsens quickly once it starts. If sewage is backing up into the home, that qualifies as a plumbing emergency requiring immediate attention rather than a scheduled repair appointment.

Why are older Aurora sewer lines more prone to root intrusion?

Original Aurora’s sewer lines are often clay or older materials with joints that were never designed to be fully watertight, and decades of tree growth in the area means root systems have had ample time to find their way in through those seams. Newer developments in Southshore and Painted Prairie use modern PVC sewer lines with more root resistant joints, making this less common there.

How do you decide between trenchless repair and full excavation?

The decision comes down to the location, severity, and cause of the damage, which our camera inspection reveals clearly before any recommendation is made. Trenchless methods work well for many root intrusion and pipe deterioration cases, while more severe collapses sometimes require traditional excavation.

Why Aurora Homeowners Choose WireNut

Sewer line diagnosis benefits enormously from experience, and our plumbers have seen the specific patterns that show up in Original Aurora’s older clay lines versus the newer PVC systems found in Southshore and Painted Prairie. We explain both options honestly, including the tradeoffs in cost and yard disruption, so homeowners can make an informed decision rather than being pushed toward whichever method is more convenient for us.

An 11x BBB Award for Excellence in Customer Service and thousands of Google reviews reflect confidence in our sewer line work, and upfront pricing means homeowners know the full scope before any digging or repair begins. Sewer line work is disruptive by nature, and we work efficiently to minimize how long a homeowner’s yard and daily routine are affected. We also provide a written summary of the camera inspection findings, so homeowners have a clear record of the line’s condition for their own records or for a future home sale.

I had the pleasure of having WireNut help me with my serious plumbing problem. I had seen a sign somewhere that said they do plumbing - they have a good reputation - so I called. I had the pleasure of working with Frankie Vargas. He’s a gem and he went the distance to really ensure what was wrong and how to fix the problem. He explained the fix to me as it was complicated. But I understood. He was careful to explain options which they may be required to do if there were further complications and let’s face the truth, there can be complications. But he assured me and he was good to his Word, that they would explain the process along the way and even show me with the camera exactly what was going on. A few days passed and I was scheduled for service which required an inspection and a schedule with the local municipality - which delayed WireNut. But WireNut prevailed and the work began. The technicians sent were gentlemen and very sensitive to cleanliness - you know, keeping their work area clean and tidy while doing some difficult work. Those gentlemen Joseph Ellerd and Chris Beatty worked as a team. They were efficient and clever in their work which I watched much of the time. They maintained decorum in their language and in their respectful conduct. They were a real pleasure to know and like Frankie Vargas, they kept me apprised all along the way. I expect because of this consistent experience with WireNut plumbing department, that you too will find your experience more than completely satisfactory! It was certainly 5 Star and above!
