Whether you need new circuits added, aging wiring replaced, or a basement finish wired from scratch, WireNut’s licensed electricians handle residential wiring projects throughout Centennial with permits, code compliance, and upfront pricing.

Electrical Wiring for Centennial Homes

Centennial’s older housing stock carries a range of wiring conditions. Homes from the 1970s may have aluminum branch circuit wiring that requires specific handling at connection points. Homes from the 1980s often have wiring that is functional but aging, with connections that have loosened over decades. And homes throughout the build era have been added to over the years with varying quality, creating a mix of wiring conditions under one roof. WireNut electricians assess what is there before recommending what needs to change.

Wiring projects often connect to panel work. If adding circuits requires panel capacity that is not currently available, our electrical panels team handles the upgrade before wiring begins. For rewiring projects that are part of a broader renovation, our electrical installation team coordinates the full project scope. See all Centennial electrical services.

Wiring Projects WireNut Handles in Centennial

  • New circuit wiring from the panel to new outlets, fixtures, or dedicated appliance locations throughout the home.
  • Basement finish wiring, including rough-in for outlets, lighting, and dedicated circuits in finished basement spaces.
  • Partial rewiring in areas where aging or damaged wiring needs to be replaced rather than repaired.
  • Aluminum wiring remediation using copalum crimping or AlumiConn connectors at connection points in homes with aluminum branch circuit wiring.
  • Knob-and-tube removal and replacement for the small number of Centennial homes with original early-era wiring still in place.

Here are the electrical wiring projects our Centennial electricians handle most often.

Does My Centennial Home Have Aluminum Wiring and Is It Dangerous?

Aluminum branch circuit wiring was used in many homes built between roughly 1965 and 1973 as a cost-saving alternative to copper. It conducts electricity fine, but it expands and contracts more than copper under heat cycles, which causes connections at outlets, switches, and junction boxes to loosen over time. Loose connections create resistance, which creates heat, which creates fire risk. This is the core concern with aluminum wiring, not the wiring itself running through the walls.

The remediation is not a full rewire in most cases. The standard approach is to install AlumiConn connectors or use the copalum crimping method at every outlet, switch, and connection point to create a safe, stable connection between the aluminum wire and a short copper pigtail. This is a project WireNut handles in Centennial homes and can typically be completed in a single day for a standard-sized home.

When Is Rewiring the Right Answer vs. Repairing?

Rewiring makes sense when the existing wiring is aluminum throughout the home and full remediation is more cost-effective than connection-point-only work, when wiring insulation is degraded or damaged in multiple areas, or when a renovation project is opening walls anyway and the opportunity exists to update wiring at the same time. Repair makes more sense for isolated wiring issues in otherwise sound systems.

WireNut will give you an honest assessment of which approach is warranted for your Centennial home’s specific conditions. We do not recommend full rewires when targeted repairs will solve the problem, and we do not recommend targeted repairs when the underlying wiring condition makes that approach inadequate.

1

Step 1: Assess the Wiring Scope. We evaluate the existing wiring condition, confirm what permits the project requires, and determine the correct approach before giving you an upfront price.

2

Step 2: Permit and Plan. We pull required permits and plan the wiring route before starting any work, including coordination with other trades if the project is part of a larger renovation.

3

Step 3: Wire, Inspect, and Close Out. We complete the wiring work, schedule required inspections, and confirm everything passes before walls are closed or the project wraps up.

Sharing an amazing experience from WireNut on my wife's account. Brady Ross was exceptional from start to finish! Brady showed up with dynamic expertise, a great personality and a bodybuilder 's physique. He thoroughly cured any deficiencies concerning my furnace even training me on the ins and outs while providing me a truthful assessment of it's condition. He even took out the used filter when he left. Thank you, Brady! You are the man.

The electrician, who came out to my house to fix an issue. His name was Jarred, he was amazing. He was super friendly, very clear on explaining everything to me, he was also very efficient, explained all of my options and what may need to be done coming up. there was no pressure, he it was very professional, he did a great job and wire nut is very lucky to have him on their team. That review was from June. I also had work done today, with a different electrician from WireNut, his name was also Jared. He was also professional, super friendly and also very informative, explaining information in an understandable way. It is great that WireNut can send different electricians and the same high quality service and interactions are received. I appreciate the work, the information and the excellent customer service both of these men gave.

Very professional, courteous and prompt. Was able to get my repair done and water back on within a 1/2 hour. Had to have an emergency call out as I needed the water back on asap, so I was ok with that fee. The cost for the repair was very high as compared to buying the parts and doing it myself. I just didn’t have time or the specialty tools to do it myself. All this being said, I would highly recommend them based on their quality of work and great service.
