Security-Widefield Electrical Wiring

Wiring in older Security-Widefield homes was not designed for the electrical demands we put on it today. WireNut’s licensed electricians handle rewires, circuit additions, and wiring upgrades safely and correctly.

Electrical Wiring Services for Security-Widefield

A large portion of Security-Widefield’s housing was built between the late 1950s and early 1970s. That means a lot of homes in this community are still running on original wiring that was installed before modern kitchen appliances, home offices, EV chargers, and smart home systems were even a thought. Older copper wiring can develop brittle insulation over decades, and homes with aluminum wiring from that era carry additional risks that most homeowners aren’t aware of until there’s a problem. WireNut’s electricians understand this housing stock inside and out.

Whether you need a dedicated circuit added for a new appliance, a partial rewire of a problem area, or a full rewire ahead of a renovation, we handle it all. You can also pair a wiring project with an electrical inspection or a new panel upgrade to make sure your whole system is up to current standards before you add more load.

Wiring Services We Provide in Security-Widefield

  • Full home rewires for older properties with original or aluminum wiring
  • Dedicated circuit installation for kitchens, home offices, and garages
  • Wiring for room additions, basement finishes, and renovation projects
  • Aluminum wiring remediation and replacement
  • Outdoor and landscape wiring for lighting and equipment
  • Subpanel wiring for detached garages and outbuildings
  • Wiring rough-in for new construction and accessory dwelling units

Our licensed electricians handle a full range of wiring work in Security-Widefield homes and businesses:

Permits and Code Compliance

We pull permits on all wiring work that requires them and schedule inspections with El Paso County as needed. This protects you during a future home sale and ensures the work meets current code, not just the code from when your Security-Widefield home was originally built.

Coordinating Wiring with Renovations

Homeowners in Security-Widefield who are planning renovations, additions, or large appliance installations benefit from addressing wiring proactively rather than waiting for a problem. When walls are already open for a kitchen remodel or a basement finish, the cost of running new circuits and bringing wiring up to current standards is significantly lower than it would be through finished walls. We work well with general contractors throughout southern El Paso County and can coordinate timing to fit your project schedule.

What We Find in Older Security-Widefield Homes

Security-Widefield homeowners who have lived in their homes since they were new often have a mix of original wiring and additions made over the decades, sometimes by previous owners who weren’t licensed electricians. Our teams regularly find circuits that were added without proper box fill, connections made with tape rather than wire nuts, and romex run through areas that required conduit under the code in effect at the time of installation. When we’re in the walls for a wiring project, we document what we find and give you an honest assessment of whether it’s safe as-is or worth correcting while we’re already in there.

When Your Circuits Can’t Keep Up

Security-Widefield homeowners who are dealing with nuisance tripping breakers, lights that dim when certain appliances run, or outlets that can’t keep up with the load they’re being asked to handle often find that the root cause is wiring that was sized for the home’s original load, not its current one. Adding circuits, upgrading wire gauge on high-demand runs, and redistributing loads across the panel are all wiring solutions that WireNut’s licensed electricians implement in Security-Widefield homes.

Cannan and Ian were both concerned about making sure I understood the process they were involved in and answered any questions and concerns I had on both days they were here. There was some miscommunication that involved the last day of installation and they both made sure that my HVAC was installed and running before they left that night. That had been their promise to me and they came through!

Good reliable service and knowledgeable technicians. I was apprehensive at first as I thought they would charge a lot more for certain things, but I’ve used them twice already and I think their prices are fair and reasonable.

So far so good! Really looking forward to working with them for new AC unit and furnace and tankless hot water heater..I'll add more to my review when the job is done..ps they caught that my house under from 16 years ago isn't up to code, so they are fixing that too. Tankless hot water heater went in today and it's great..they were VERY qualified and knowledgeable about all aspects of the job. The entire crew were pleasant and courteous. I really appreciate the work so far! I'm looking forward to having the AC, furnace combo up n running on Wednesday of next week. And I will review it then. I would have them in my house any time.
