Centennial Outlet Installation

Not enough outlets in the right places is one of the most common frustrations in Centennial’s older homes. WireNut adds outlets throughout your home, including dedicated circuits for high-draw applications, with licensed electricians and upfront pricing.

Outlet Installation for Centennial Homes

Centennial homes built in the 1970s and 1980s were wired for the device count of that era. Bedrooms, home offices, and living areas that made sense with two or three outlets per room are now perpetually full of extension cords and power strips. Adding outlets to the rooms that need them is a practical electrical upgrade that improves both function and safety, since overloaded power strips are a common fire hazard in homes that are short on receptacles.

Outlet installation often depends on panel capacity. Our electrical panels team handles capacity assessment and upgrades when the panel does not have room for new circuits. For homes that also need GFCI protection added in specific locations, our outlets and switches service handles both projects together. See all Centennial electrical services.

Outlet Installation Projects WireNut Handles in Centennial

  • Additional outlet installation in rooms that are short on receptacles, including bedrooms, home offices, living rooms, and garages.
  • Dedicated circuit outlet installation for appliances that require their own circuit, such as refrigerators, microwaves, dishwashers, and home office equipment.
  • USB outlet installation at nightstands, kitchen counters, home offices, and other high-frequency charging locations.
  • Outdoor outlet installation with weatherproof covers and GFCI protection for exterior use on patios, garages, and outbuildings.
  • Floor outlet installation for living areas and home offices where wall outlets are not conveniently accessible from the center of the room.

Here are the outlet installation projects our Centennial electricians handle most often.

How Many Outlets Should a Room Have in My Centennial Home?

Current electrical code requires outlets no more than twelve feet apart along any wall, and no wall segment longer than six feet should be without an outlet. Many older Centennial homes do not meet this standard, particularly in bedrooms and living areas that were wired to minimum standards at construction. If you are using extension cords as a permanent solution in any room, that room probably needs more outlets.

For home offices, where multiple monitors, computers, printers, and charging accessories are often running simultaneously, adding outlets and potentially a dedicated circuit is a better solution than loading up a power strip on a single shared circuit. WireNut can assess the room and recommend the right number and type of outlets for your actual usage.

When Does Adding Outlets Require a New Circuit vs. Extending an Existing One?

Adding outlets to an existing circuit is appropriate when the circuit has available capacity, meaning it is not already running at or near its rated load. If a circuit is consistently carrying most of its rated amperage, adding more outlets to it creates an overload risk. High-draw applications like home offices with multiple computers, kitchen appliances, or garage tools should be on dedicated circuits. WireNut checks the existing circuit load before recommending whether to extend an existing circuit or add a new one from the panel.

In Centennial homes with panels that are already at capacity, adding circuits requires either a panel upgrade or a subpanel before new outlet circuits can be added. WireNut assesses the panel during the outlet installation estimate so you know if this is a factor before committing to the project.

Why Centennial Homeowners Choose WireNut for Outlet Installation

WireNut has been adding outlets and circuits to Colorado homes since 2004 and has earned 11 BBB Excellence in Customer Service Awards. Outlet installation that is done correctly is permitted where required, placed correctly, and connected to circuits that can handle the added load.

We check the circuit before adding to it. Centennial homeowners do not get new outlets added to circuits that are already operating at capacity. They get an honest assessment of the circuit condition and a recommendation that actually makes the electrical system safer, not just more convenient.

I have used WireNut several times for a variety of services, from checking plumbing lines to HVAC tune-ups and electrical work. No matter who they send or who I speak with over the phone, I’m always impressed by their professionalism and genuine family-oriented approach.

I had the privilege of working with Frankie today, and let me just say—what a great guy! He was easy to talk to, took the time to explain everything thoroughly, and was incredibly personable. He’s exactly the kind of person you want representing your company.

The same goes for everyone I’ve spoken with over the phone. Dawn, Jason, and the entire staff have consistently been friendly, professional, and a pleasure to work with.

Thank you all for providing such outstanding customer service. It’s rare to find a company that delivers not only quality work but also makes every interaction feel personal. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend WireNut to anyone looking for honest, professional, and caring service.

I had the pleasure of having WireNut help me with my serious plumbing problem. I had seen a sign somewhere that said they do plumbing - they have a good reputation - so I called. I had the pleasure of working with Frankie Vargas. He’s a gem and he went the distance to really ensure what was wrong and how to fix the problem. He explained the fix to me as it was complicated. But I understood. He was careful to explain options which they may be required to do if there were further complications and let’s face the truth, there can be complications. But he assured me and he was good to his Word, that they would explain the process along the way and even show me with the camera exactly what was going on. A few days passed and I was scheduled for service which required an inspection and a schedule with the local municipality - which delayed WireNut. But WireNut prevailed and the work began. The technicians sent were gentlemen and very sensitive to cleanliness - you know, keeping their work area clean and tidy while doing some difficult work. Those gentlemen Joseph Ellerd and Chris Beatty worked as a team. They were efficient and clever in their work which I watched much of the time. They maintained decorum in their language and in their respectful conduct. They were a real pleasure to know and like Frankie Vargas, they kept me apprised all along the way. I expect because of this consistent experience with WireNut plumbing department, that you too will find your experience more than completely satisfactory! It was certainly 5 Star and above!
